IT Security

Filed under: Internet — bruce @ 12:05 am
There’re three types or layers of security in information technology: network security, application security and physical security. Network security refers to the technology and procedures that prevents the unauthorized access of network resources. Application security refers to the security design in applications that safe-guard the protected data resources based on the level of privileges. Physical security is the administrative procedures to protect the physical setting where data centers are located.

When it comes to the IT security in reality, most people think about just network security. Of course, network security involves more technology and requires experience and expertise. CompTIA Security+ Certification is the recognized security certification in IT industry.  To gain a security+ certification, it requires 2 year plus network security experience. To pass the certification test, most security professionals take security+ training. Just like other IT certification training, you could either use security+ training CD or security+ CBT.  Setting up VPN (virtual Private Network) and firewall configuration are usually part of the certification tests.  Systematical training supplements hands-on experience. Your experience may not touch all technical topics that CompTIA security+ training may cover.

The Perfect Business Gift

Filed under: Uncategorized — bruce @ 12:13 pm

Business gifts are rather difficult to buy sometimes simply because you do not want the gift to seem too personal but you want it to reflect the appreciation it should. It is hard to find a gift that embodies this. However, there is one gift that is greatly appreciated, will be useful, and can be given as corporate business gifts over and over again. What item could be perfect for corporate Christmas gifts? The answer is a nice pen. Cross, Mont Blanc, and other similar brands make amazing pens that are perfect for the corporate environment. Not only do they look fantastic and write well but also they make a bold statement and that is what you want in a gift. The great thing about these pens is that they may be personalized as well. You could add the date of a promotion, new title, the company’s name, or any other number of special quotes or sayings. If you have been on the lookout for the perfect gift then you need to consider nice pens. They will certainly be appreciated, will be very useful, and the gift recipient will be very proud.

Travel with Infants

When traveling with infants you want to prepare for everything that way no matter what happens you will have a solution. The first thing you should do is plan your Cabo San Lucas resort trip around your child’s naps. This might not be entirely possible but do your best to pick a flight that leaves shortly after your child has woken up from a nap so that he will be rested and happy and enough ahead of his next nap so that he can settle down easily during the trip. Make sure your child has eaten too before beginning a flight. You don’t want to have to feed your child on the flight unless you have to. That’s because it can be messy for baby, mom, and everyone else. Most flights to a Cabo resort should be fast so all you really need is to have a freshly changed baby who is well rested and well fed to have a great outcome. Then, when you arrive all you will have to do is check out the Cabo San Lucas vacation rentals and enjoy your vacation. Those are some basic tips to help you travel to Cabos with kids.

How to Calculate Square Feet

Filed under: Home — bruce @ 12:04 am

No matter what you are trying to accomplish when it comes to home improvements you will almost always need to know how to calculate square feet. If you already know how to calculate the square foot cost then you are in good shape, but that is not the case for most people. There are however a couple of tips that can help you when it comes to calculating square feet. First of all, you could use a square footage calculator on the Internet and that would prove very helpful. However, in many cases you are not near the Internet when you need to calculate the square footage so you need some other tools to help you accomplish that. For anything rectangular area you can remember that you multiply the length times the width to get the total area. Simply round up if there are any odd lengths or widths to give you some cushion room. Areas that are circular or triangular are not quite as easy. When figuring a circle’s area you need to radius ties pi, which is 3.14. The radius is the length from the center of the circle to the outer edge. Now, when it comes to a triangular area you need to multiply the base, which is the shortest line of the right angle, by .5. You then need to multiply this number by the height, which is the longest line touching the right angle. For areas that are shaped differently you will want to create as many circles, triangles, or rectangles as possible to come up with a number that is close to the actual area.

Dress Up Your Patio this Summer

Filed under: Garden — bruce @ 10:27 am
A great way to dress up your patio is by buying some outdoor wicker furniture. There is no patio furniture out there more stylish and durable than wicker not to mention it just adds warmth and hospitality to your patio. Everyone feels welcome with wicker furniture and that is a great atmosphere to create. You will want to check out azura furniture as well when you are shopping to see what you like the most. Of course, Hillsdale furniture is worth taking a look at too. Overall what you buy should reflect your style and the look you are trying to create on your patio. You must also keep your budget in mind. Wicker is usually pretty affordable but you can find some really expensive pieces as well. Shop in thrift stores, discount stores, and even online to find great wicker for affordable prices. Keep in mind as well that you can always add brightly colored cushions to your wicker furniture to liven it up and make it more comfortable. You can even change the fabric every summer to keep things new and exciting not to mention in style!
